Exploring the Experience of Choking under Pressure through a Contextual Behavioral Science Lens

Sport Psychology researchers in the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences are interested in exploring elite athletes’ experience of choking and performance under pressure.

We are looking to recruit individual or team sport athletes who believe they have personally choked, or experienced multiple choking episodes performing under pressure:

  • 18-years or older
  • Loughborough Performance Sport athletes
  • Professional athletes
  • National or International-level athletes
  • Take part in a 90-minute virtual focus group
  • Participate in a follow-up individual interview
  • Gain valuable insight on performance under pressure
  • Volunteer for follow-up intervention study aimed at enhancing performance under pressure
