Doctoral researcher reaches final at Three Minute Thesis competition

Five doctoral researchers are standing in a line in front of an interactive screen which reads 3MT Three Minute Thesis.

Earlier this week, our doctoral researchers from the School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering participated in the Three-Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition.

Founded by the University of Queensland, the 3MT® competition challenges researchers to present a compelling presentation to a judging panel on their research topic and its significance in just three minutes or under.

In a close contest among the School's finalists, the winner was Rameesh Bulathsinghala (second from right in the photo), who gave a fascinating presentation on super-smart textiles for health sensing.

Ramesh will now represent the School at the university's 3MT grand final on 28th June. Well done to our brilliant finalists, and best of luck Rameesh!
