Placement Student Awards 2016

Placements

Placements are a great way to gain experience and boost your employability.

Placement opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate students vary in length and remuneration - but all provide a great way to gain valuable employment experience.

Undergraduate placements

Undergraduate sandwich degrees – which include a work placement – allow you to combine valuable industrial or professional experience with your academic studies. As well as boosting your career prospects, you’ll earn a salary of typically £14-16,000.

Postgraduate placements

The University operates a Knowledge Transfer Partnership scheme which places postgraduate research students in companies for one to three years to work on a particular project - perhaps boosting product development, business expansion or performance improvements.
