Research and expertise

My research interests are in computer vision for construction safety prediction, with construction accident attribution research based on management and sociological methods, and the application of BIM in whole process construction

From my master's study to the present, my research work relates to construction safety and the application of BIM in the whole process of construction. Over the last 5 years, my research interest can be categorised into 3 strands:

  • Construction accident attribution research based on management and sociological methods
  • Computer vision for construction safety prediction
  • The application of BIM in the whole process of construction

Current research activity

  • Computer vision for construction safety under challenging weather conditions

Profile

I graduated from Yangzhou University with a BSc in Engineering Management in 2019 and then with an MSc in Civil Engineering in 2022.

During my master's study, I supervised and participated in multiple full-process construction projects and urban pipeline renovation initiatives driven by BIM technologies. My primary responsibilities included modeling and conducting green building analyses.

Leveraging the unique characteristics of Yangzhou's ancient city and its status as a tourist destination, I contributed to projects involving the analysis and recommendations for tourism-related infrastructure in Yangzhou, as well as the renovation of the Guazhou historical ferry. In addition to these endeavors, I applied sociological methods, such as social networks and meta-network theories, to conduct attribution analyses of several serious construction accidents in China. These experiences laid the theoretical foundation for my current doctoral research.

I also have internship experience with a design institute, where I primarily worked on civil engineering and pipeline modeling for underground parking garages.
