Register your attendance with us so that we can keep you posted on the next steps of your application. Once done, grab yourself some refreshments ahead of the formal welcome.
10:30 - 10:40 Welcome and Introduction to the Department
A formal welcome talk where you can find out more about our Department.
10:40 - 11:15

Academic Presentation
Hear more about our courses and the careers opportunities that they open up.
11:15 - 12:45 Laboratory Sessions
Take part in a variety of laboratory sessions and demonstrations for each course, including STEM Labs, Loughborough Materials Characterisation Centre and our polymer processing facilities.
12:45 - 13:45 Lunch
Including the chance to learn more about our Accommodation and Student Support.
13:45 - 14:20 Student Presentations
Hear from our students about their experience and placements.
14:20 - 14:30

Farewell from the Department
A final opportunity to get any questions you may have answered by our academic tutors and current students.

Travel and Parking

Read our travel guidance and park for free on your visit day by pre-registering your vehicle.
All our taught courses include laboratory based content. These sessions will give you a taste of some of the types of engineering laboratory work that students may undertake within our Materials and Biomedical Engineering courses. 
 
Materials applicants will have the chance to see our Materials facilities in STEM Lab and will undertake some work in our polymer processing area. Biomedical Engineering applicants will get hands on in our STEM bio-labs and will also visit the STEM Materials labs to understand how we test biomaterials. As well as these course specific laboratories, all applicants will visit our world-leading microscopy centre, Loughborough Materials Characterisation Centre.
