Computer Science Visit Days

Our applicant visit days are the perfect opportunity to get a feel for life and study at Loughborough University - and meet the staff and students who make Loughborough's Department of Computer Science what it is.

Even if you've visited campus before (for an Open Day or campus tour, perhaps) the applicant visit day is more focused on the Department and the course for which you've applied. You will be able to get more detailed information about the course from the staff that teach it.

Good to see the university on a 'normal' day, gives you a better idea of what being there will be like compared to busy Open Day. Great to be able to have discussions with current students!

Registration, meet and greet (James France Exhibition Area)
Register your attendance with us so that we can keep you posted on the next steps of your application. Once done, you'll be able to speak to staff and students and take part in some exciting activities.
13:00 - 13:35

Welcome to Computer Science at Loughborough | Presentation and student talks
A formal welcome talk where you can find out more about our Department and gain a true insight into your course from our academic staff and current students.
13:40 - 15:50

Campus tour
Our current students will be taking you on a tour of our campus, including the Computer Science Department. You will get to explore what our stunning campus has to offer. During this time there will also be a chance for an informal Q&A with our staff and students. Refreshments will be available.
16:00 - 16:30

Subject presentations
Learn more about the subject area which you have applied to study, in this presentation lead by the programme director.
16:30 Farewell

Travel information

  • Regular services operate between Loughborough and other main line towns, including daily trains to and from London St Pancras International in as little as 1 hour 16 minutes.
  • A University Sprint bus service operates between the University/Town/Railway Station every 15 minutes; ask for the University.
  • A taxi stand operates from the Railway Station, ask for the university (taxi fare approx. £8 - £10).
  • Coach travellers will arrive at Loughborough (The Rushes); this is also the bus stop for the University Sprint service (see above).

Parking

We suggest you use Car Park 5, 9, 18 or 19.

Register your vehicle

  • Nottingham East Midlands Airport is a 20-minute taxi ride from Loughborough University; ask for Loughborough University.
  • A Skylink service runs from Nottingham East Midlands Airport to Loughborough Town Centre, where you will need to connect with the University Sprint service (see above).

Registration for the visit day is from 12:30 (see the schedule above), but you are very welcome to arrive on campus earlier to take a look around.
