You'll also have the opportunity to ask our academic tutors and current students any questions you may have, remember, no question is too big or too small.

What to expect on the day

10:00 - 10:30

Registration and refreshments (S-Building Foyer)
Register your attendance with us so that we can keep you posted on the next steps of your application. Once done, grab yourself some refreshments ahead of the formal welcome.

10:30 - 11:10

Welcome to the Department (DAV028)
Find out more about our Department in our presentation and talk delivered by Professor Karen Coopman and Dr. Anna Trybala.

11:15 - 12:45

Laboratory and Department tour
See and hear more about our award-winning labs and equipment you will use here.

12:45 - 13:45

Lunch with current students (S-Building)
Our current students will be joining you for an informal networking lunch. Why not use this time to ask them any questions about student life at Loughborough or your course?

13:45 - 14:30 Presentations: Student Experience, Accommodation and Placements (S2031)
A presentation and talk to find out more about student life, accommodation options and placement opportunities.
14:30 - 15:30

Campus tour
Make sure you're in comfy shoes as we'll be taking you around our campus to show you everything we have to offer here at Loughborough.

Farewell, final Q&A and refreshments (S-Building Foyer)
A final opportunity to get any questions you may have answered by our academic tutors and current students. You can also grab some refreshments before your journey home!

Travelling by car

Register your vehicle

You must register your vehicle when attending your visit day. Full details on how to pre-register your car or how to register on the day for free are available on the Visit Day Parking page.

Directions to Loughborough University

  • M1: Loughborough is situated just off Junction 23 of the M1 in Leicestershire, mid-way between Leicester and Nottingham. Visitors are requested to head for the West Entrance to the University, and take the first exit at the first roundabout.
  • Please also see our how to find us page for more driving instructions.
  • A6 from North and South: follow signs for Loughborough, then University and/or Nanpantan.
  • A60 from Nottingham or A511 from Leicester or Burton: follow signs for Loughborough, then University and/or Nanpantan.
  • Please park in Car Park 1, situated behind S-Building.

Travelling by train

For the railway station and Loughborough town centre, the Kinch Sprint bus departs from outside the Wolfson School every 10 minutes within term time.

If you wish to order a taxi for your return journey, please do so upon arrival at the registration desk or as soon as you are able.

Travelling by aeroplane

  • Nottingham East Midlands Airport is a 20-minute taxi ride from Loughborough University.
  • A Skylink service runs from Nottingham East Midlands Airport to Loughborough town centre, where you will need to connect with the University Sprint service (see travelling by train and coach for further instructions).
