Travel information

Travelling by train and coach

  • Regular services operate between Loughborough and other main line towns, including daily trains to and from London St Pancras International in as little as 1 hour 16 minutes.
  • A University Sprint service operates between the University/Town/Railway Station every 15 minutes; ask for the University.
  • A taxi stand operates from the Railway Station, ask for the university (taxi fare approx. £8 - £10).
  • Coach travellers will arrive at Loughborough (The Rushes); this is also the bus stop for the University Sprint service (see above).

You must register your vehicle when attending your visit day. Full details on how to pre-register your car or how to register on the day for free are available on the Visit Day Parking page

Directions to Loughborough University

  • M1: Loughborough is situated just off Junction 23 of the M1 in Leicestershire, mid-way between Leicester and Nottingham. Visitors are requested to head for the West Entrance to the University, and take the first exit at the first roundabout.
  • Please also see our how to find us page for more driving instructions.
  • A6 from North and South: follow signs for Loughborough, then University and/or Nanpantan.
  • A60 from Nottingham or A511 from Leicester or Burton: follow signs for Loughborough, then University and/or Nanpantan.
    Please park in Car Park 1.
  • Please refer to our how to find us page for driving directions.
  • Visitors are requested to head for the West Entrance to the University, and take the first exit at the first roundabout and then take the first left to Car Park 1.

Travelling by aeroplane

  • Nottingham East Midlands Airport is a 20-minute taxi ride from Loughborough University; ask for Loughborough University.
  • A Skylink service runs from Nottingham East Midlands Airport to Loughborough Town Centre, where you will need to connect with the University Sprint service (see above).
