Our visit days are the perfect chance for you to have a sneak peek into your future and find out more about your course, the campus and student life. You'll also have the opportunity to ask our academic tutors and current students any questions you may have, remember, no question is too big or too small.

Useful information

Travelling by car

Register your vehicle

You must register your vehicle when attending your visit day. Full details on how to pre-register your car or how to register on the day for free are available on the Visit Day Parking page


Directions to Loughborough University

  • M1: Loughborough is situated just off Junction 23 of the M1 in Leicestershire, mid-way between Leicester and Nottingham. Visitors are requested to head for the West Entrance to the University, and take the first exit at the first roundabout.
  • Please also see our how to find us page for more driving instructions.
  • A6 from North and South: follow signs for Loughborough, then University and/or Nanpantan.
  • A60 from Nottingham or A511 from Leicester or Burton: follow signs for Loughborough, then University and/or Nanpantan.
  • Please park in Car Park 1.

Travelling by train and coach

  • You will need to purchase a train ticket to Loughborough railway station via The Trainline or East Midlands Railway. Then, you will need to catch the bus to the university.
  • A University Sprint service operates between the university, town centre and railway station every 15 minutes. When travelling to us, ask for the university and get off at the Wolfson School bus stop within the campus grounds (this is where you will catch the bus at the end of the day).
  • A taxi stand also operates from the railway station, ask for the university (taxi fare approx. £8 - £10). If you wish to order a taxi for your return journey, please do so upon arrival at the registration desk or as soon as you are able.
  • Coach travellers may arrive at Loughborough (The Rushes) which is also the bus stop for the University Sprint service (see above). Other coach services such as Megabus will drop you off outside the University where you can walk to S-Building.
