PhD in Computational Physics in Iran and guest PhD student in Denmark

Length of time in engineering

Research in multidisciplinary research field of biology, physics and engineering from PhD from 2012-2018 and then as a visiting research associate from 2018-2020 and as a postdoctoral research associate in 2021.

Academic knowledge important to your role

Higher level mathematics, Molecular dynamics simulation, Computational modelling, use of high-performance computing facilities, Visualisation of biomaterials, writing scientific papers, Machine learning and Programming are of parts of academic knowledge which are important for my role.

Broad skills to be a good engineer

In my opinion, firstly knowing your abilities and what you are good at, then management, responsibility and accuracy and order in work are very important. Creativity and broad thinking and communication and networking are other important skills.

What inspired you to pursue a career in engineering

The desire to be the best of me, using of my capabilities and playing a small role in improving the quality of life.

The best part of my job is Challenges and solving the problems and accomplishments.

Project you are most proud of

Computational modelling of different proteins showing the importance of MD simulation in drug discovery and also prediction of effect of mobile phone on a protein in the neural system and now modelling of bio glass dissolution in the biological environment.

Biggest changes in the sector over the last 50 years

Internet, digital technology, nano technology and aerospace technology.

Challenges in the industry

Gender diversity and inclusion is still not representative. As a female, it often feels more challenging to be accepted in the field of engineering.

Predictions for 50 years time

Design of new materials and advanced applications in medicine, communication technologies and energy technologies.
