Finding evidence for your systematic review (in person)

The NHS Centre for Reviews and Dissemination define a systematic review as "a review of the evidence on a clearly formulated question that uses systematic an explicit methods to identify, select and crictically appraise relevant primary research, and to extract and analyse data from the studies that are included in the review." The methods used must be reproducible and transparent and the review is conducting in a prescribed way.  This session will explore this methodology ensuring you will be able to construct a strong search strategy including using thesauri and indexes to find to find alternative search terms, and use advanced search techniques tush as phrase and proximity searching, we will discover how to conduct a nested search in a database and how to utilise database options to ensure the search is a comprehensively as possible.  The session will include demonstrations and time to practice searching for information on the participants' own devices. The workshop builds on learning from the 'Planning' and 'Conducting your search' workshops; prior attendance at  these courses is recommended but not essential.
