The Summer Showcase is a fun event that brings doctoral researchers and staff together from across the University to share their work and network in a vibrant and supportive environment. The event will take place at the West Park Teaching Hub (East Midlands Campus) and online.

The whole atmosphere, it was very supportive and recognised each doctoral researcher. This is important because it creates an inclusive environment, and as someone who has just started their PhD, makes me feel more confident to get involved in future years.

Poster Competition

Want the experience of explaining your research succinctly and sharing your innovative ideas with a large, diverse audience from across the university? If your answer is “yes”, then the research poster exhibition at the Summer Showcase is the perfect platform for you!

Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition

3MT® is a dynamic and inspiring research communication competition developed by the University of Queensland, Australia. Entrants have just three minutes (and a single static slide) to deliver a captivating presentation on their thesis and its significance.

Images of Research

Doctoral Researchers are invited to tap into their adventurous and creative spirit by distilling their research into an image for a gallery display at the Summer Showcase event.

Interactive Exhibition

Doctoral researchers are encouraged to showcase activities and outputs related to their research that attendees can actively engage with at the Summer Showcase.

No Bell Prize Competition

Back by popular demand for this year’s Summer Showcase is the 'No-Bell' Prize Competition! (NBP). Think of it as a 3MT®-lite competition, with more relaxed rules and designed to entertain and/or grip a public audience.
