UKRI Policy Internships scheme

Posted: 11 June 2025

The Policy Internships scheme is a three-month internship opportunity for doctoral students funded by the Research Councils of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) to gain training and experience of how research can inform policy-making undertaken as part of the doctoral studentship.

There are around 125 internships available, across 23 host partners – so there are likely to be various opportunities that might be of interest to you.

The internships will take place during the 2026 calendar year.

Please contact Charlotte (C.Hamilton@lboro.ac.uk) if you have any queries.

Please note: Doctoral students who are self-funded, or funded via another route (such as university/School, EC, industry) are not eligible for this scheme.
