Staff members across the university have the opportunity to volunteer with community organisations to help Loughborough thrive.
When you sign up to be a volunteer, you'll receive a weekly email letting you know what organisations you can get involved with.
Here are some of the organisations the university currently works with that you could help:
Loughborough Town of Sanctuary
Loughborough Town of Sanctuary supports asylum seekers and refugees in Loughborough. It offers English classes weekly, support in the hotels housing asylum seekers, gym places at the leisure centre, meet and greet at the immigration reporting centre and individual support with signposting.
Anchor Youth
Anchor Youth Centre is a free, volunteer-led drop-in space for young people aged 12–17 in Loughborough. It provides a safe, welcoming environment where young people can build friendships, access support, and engage in positive activities.
YMCA
YMCA is a leading youth homelessness charity, working alongside some of the most vulnerable people in our Leicestershire community and help them grow. YMCA believe every young person deserves a safe place to call home and the support they need to create lasting change in their lives.
Falcon Centre
The Falcon Centre has been helping those in need across Leicestershire find independence through housing, recovery and community support for 20 years.
Loughborough Wellbeing Centre
The Wellbeing Centre centre provides adults experiencing mental health challenges with a safe, supportive and welcoming place to go to for the benefit of their mental health and wellbeing.
Darts for All
Darts for All offers a weekly inclusive community darts session for anyone over the age of 18. It provides a fun, welcoming, social environment to anyone wishing to make new friends and play darts. Darts for All is focused on making everyone welcome and seek to combat isolation and loneliness.
Age UK Leicestershire & Rutland
Age UK Leicestershire & Rutland is an independent local charity with a national name. We work in the local community to help older people live happier, active, fulfilled and socially-engaged lives in communities around the city, county and Rutland.
Equality Action
Equality Action is a registered charity set up in 1969 that helps individuals who are disadvantaged and facing barriers to access services and support. The charity offers expert advice and help accessing government support for debt, welfare benefits, housing as well as immigration and more.
