Car parking on the campus

Construction of the new hall will impact some of the car parks on campus. Car parks 5, 5a and 21 (the car park near the former Chemistry building) all lie within the development site and are no longer available. 

To mitigate the impact

• the short stay car park at the swimming pool can now be used by staff for more than two hours (it remains restricted to two hours for visitors).
• a temporary car park has been created adjacent to the Design School – staff using this area must enter and exit as per the signage.

The temporary car park located on the former John Clements site, next to Matthew Arnold, is currently closed. The use of this car park will be reviewed in the spring.

There is usually capacity at the Multi-Storey and Holywell Car Parks at the West Park area of campus. The frequency of the on-campus shuttle bus service has been increased to make it easier to get from this part of campus to the central and eastern parks.
