Ying is a PhD researcher in dance psychology, focusing on mental health support and psychological intervention strategies for dance students in various educational settings.
Her first major study was a scoping review—an examination of psychological interventions used with dance students that highlights the importance of intervention flexibility in different training environments, including universities, conservatories, professional dance companies, and non-professional settings.
She is committed to advancing evidence-based, inclusive, and culturally sensitive mental health strategies in dance education and performance.

Interests and activities
Aside from my academic research, I am a choreographer and contemporary dancer who is particularly interested in incorporating traditional Chinese aesthetics and improvisation methods into dance creation. I am actively involved in cross-cultural artistic collaborations and enjoy working with dancers in the theatre.
