  • Doctoral Researcher
Sports Biomechanics and Motor Control Research Group
Start date: January 2024
Primary supervisor: Dr Stuart Mcerlain-Naylor
Secondary supervisor(s): Dr Glen Blenkinsop, Dr Haibin Cai

Profile

Julia completed a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a specialization in nanomaterial science. After transitioning to Human Movement Science in Amsterdam, she completed an MSc in Sport Biomechanics at Loughborough University, graduating with distinction in 2023. Julia started her PhD in January 2024 looking at the remote and scalable assessment of sprint biomechanics and the effect of biological maturity. The research sits at the intersection of biomechanics, biological maturation, and computer science and is part funded by the NFL, with Julia embedded within the NFL Academy. Julia is passionate about combining sports and engineering to drive performance enhancement.
