Ellie completed her integrated masters (MSci) in Biological Sciences at Loughborough University in 2023 with first class honours. During her undergraduate studies, Ellie studied a range of biology disciplines and received an Academic Excellence Award and PhD scholarship for the highest third-year grade across the School of Sports, Exercise and Health Sciences. For her masters, Ellie also received an Academic Excellence Award and Top Project Awards from both the University and the Royal Society of Biology for her project investigating curcumin and curcumin-loaded extracellular vesicles for breast cancer treatment. 

With interest in cancer biology, Ellie is currently working towards a PhD in oncology and drug delivery. Her research will focus on alternative breast cancer treatments, developing 3D models of breast cancer and specifically using extracellular vesicles as drug delivery vehicles in 3D breast cancer models in vitro.
