Claude obtained his Bachelor of Nursing from The University of Hong Kong in 2019, gaining clinical experience in both medical and oncology settings. He later pursued postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom, earning a Master of Science in Exercise as Medicine with distinction from Loughborough University in 2021.
Following his MSc, Claude worked within the exercise referral scheme in Leicester, where he facilitated the Fit4Surgery programme and coordinated the Steady Steps Fall Prevention initiative.
In 2024, Claude began his PhD at Loughborough University, focusing on the integration of digital health technologies in the management of hepatic Glycogen Storage Diseases. Alongside his doctoral studies, he works part-time as an Exercise Physiologist at the University Hospitals of Leicester, supporting clinical exercise interventions in patient care.
Research
In collaboration with The Association for Glycogen Storage Disease (UK) (AGSD-UK), Claude is working on a funded research studentship project on the use of digital health technologies in hepatic Glycogen Storage Diseases (GSDs).
This research project aims to assess the efficacy and feasibility of using digital health technologies -- continuous glucose monitoring devices and wearables -- in managing hepatic GSDs. Specifically, exploring how these technologies can enhance glycaemic control, increase physical activity, and improve patient and caregiver experiences.
Interests and activities
Claude is an qualified Strength and Conditioning Coach and has gained a variety of qualifications, including Level 4 BACPR Specialist Exercise Instructor Qualification, Level 4 Cancer Rehabilitation. and Level 4 Postural stability instructor.
