Bettina completed her undergraduate studies in 2020, graduating from Aberystwyth University with a degree in Psychology. She then went on to complete her MSc at Loughborough University in 2021 in Sport and Exercise Psychology. Following that, Bettina went on to start her PhD at Loughborough University in 2022, and she is expecting to complete this in 2026. Her PhD focuses on enhancing motivation and engagement to physical activity in community-living stroke survivors.

Bettina currently works in the School as a Research Assistant with Dr Niki Chouliara, supporting the TELSTAR project that examines how telerehabilitation could support the provision of evidence-based, equitable rehabilitation for stroke survivors in the community.

Bettina completed her Associate Fellow of Advance Higher Education (AFHEA) in 2025. She has been a European Handball Federation (EHF) Expert since 2024.
