Anthony attended Stellenbosch University in South Africa, graduating with a BSc Sport Science in 2014, a BSc Hons Cum Laude in Sport Science (Performance Sport) in 2015, and an MSc Cum Laude in Sport Science in 2018. In 2021 Anthony moved to the United Kingdom to undertake a PhD in Exercise Physiology at Leeds Beckett University, passing his viva voce in 2025 with minor amendments.

Anthony joined Loughborough University in 2025 as a University Teacher in Strength and Conditioning and Exercise Physiology, delivering teaching primarily on the MSc Strength and Conditioning course. In addition to his academic background, Anthony brings a wealth of practical experience as a Strength and Conditioning coach having worked with Leeds Rhinos Netball, Aquatics Great Britain’s Olympic Diving Programme, and PGMOL premiership football match officials.

Anthony’s doctoral research focused on determining and understanding fatigue in indoor court-based team sports. However, his area of interest spans across the area of applied sport science and human performance, having worked on a variety of projects associated with Leeds Rhinos Netball and the Rugby Football League.
