Independent Boccia Training Ramp for BC3 Athletes
Yihong Liu - Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics
Description
This project presents a low-cost, self-operated training ramp designed for BC3 Boccia athletes. It enables users to independently adjust the ramp's direction and release the ball without any external assistance. The ramp is mounted on a movable cart that allows directional control through subtle upper-body rotation. A simple release mechanism, operated using a mouth-held paddle, allows athletes to complete the throwing process autonomously. The prototype is built using accessible materials such as corrugated cardboard, plastic bottles, disposable chopsticks, and straps, making it easy to replicate and promote inclusive sports participation.
