Brief H

Empowerment through Inclusive sport (Video). Loughborough Sport.

Sports give individuals a sense of purpose, self-confidence, and resilience, helping them overcome societal limitations. It's about creating sports environments where everyone, regardless of disability, gender, or background, can participate and benefit. The concept of Empowerment through Sport extends globally, with initiatives in various countries working to implement these principles.

The aim of this brief is to evocatively present the principles of empowerment through sport in action. The video will support and celebrate the activities and evidence from organisations and or projects working towards empowerment and inclusion. Examples include:

a)      The UNESCO & Plan International ‘Plan2Inclusivize’ program to train staff on including children with disabilities in sport and play.

b)      Special Olympics, highlighting inclusivity at all levels of performance.

c)      G100 who foster gender equality and empower women and girls through sports and promote the UN Women's Sports for Generation Equality Principles.

d)      Beyond sport, a global organization that supports and measures the impact of social development programs using sport.

The video must present an evocative story that aligns with real experiences and ways that individuals, groups, and communities have been empowered through sport.
