Raising awareness of inclusive Sports (Poster). Loughborough Sport.

The brief is to celebrate and raise awareness of Inclusive Sport, based on the principles and activities of four days each year where inclusive sports and sports people are celebrated:

  1. United Nations' International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (IDSDP), each year on April 6th, to recognize the positive role of sport and physical activity in building communities and promoting social development and peace.
  2. #WhiteCard campaign, also on April 6th each year, to spread awareness about the positive power of sport
  3. Eunice Kennedy Shriver Day, 20th July 20, which marks the founding of the Special Olympics and focuses on a Global Day of Inclusion. It also commemorates the first International Special Olympics Games held in Chicago .
  4. Diversity in Sport Day, 28th August, which recognizes milestones and trailblazers in the sports world, particularly those who have championed diversity and equity.

Background resources

Inclusive sports equipment usually involves three people: a Player or Athlete, an inclusive sports coach, and a carer. Each person has different needs and priorities when considering a new piece of sports equipment product. Issues include:
