Rethinking electricity access in informal settlements - A co-authored blog on a neglected aspect of energy poverty

Access to electricity remains a major challenge for millions living in informal settlements. A new approach is needed, built around understanding the complex social and economic realities in play and putting communities at the centre of planning and implementation.

This new blog, authored by Dr Sarah Wykes (STEER, LU) and Enzo Leone, (IIED’s Shaping Sustainable Markets research group) provides a series of insights and interviews designed to share the experiences of community leaders, professionals, researchers and government from the global South.

The full blog post can be accessed on the IIED website.
