Members of the ARAMP team have been working with our colleagues from Loughborough University's Health and Safety Service to better understand the risk associated with needlesticks containing radioactive materials.
Rae's presentation, “An investigation into radioactive needlestick injuries”, included the results of a pilot study investigating the variables influencing volume deposition during needlestick injuries. After winning the YPA, Rae will represent the UK at the next International Radiation Protection Association (IRPA) YPA competition taking place in Liverpool next year. Watch this space to see how she gets on, and for more information about our work on radiation protection.
