The online event, organised by Megan Eaton (University of Surrey) and Sarah Bugby (Loughborough University, ARAMP group), was very well received by an enthusiastic group of undergraduate students.

In his talk, Henry shared the story of his early career in Medical Physics. He described his unconventional path, beginning with not choosing Physics at A-level, progressing through his undergraduate degree in physics, moving into a graduate consultancy role, and ultimately deciding to return to academia as a PhD student in the ARAMP group.

Henry focused particularly on the motivations behind leaving a well-paid consultancy job to pursue a PhD in Medical Physics, offering valuable insight into the personal and professional considerations behind such a decision. Henry is currently exploring inverse Compton scattering sources and their potential applications in medicine.

It was an inspiring talk, and we hope it encourages more young physicists to consider a career in medical physics.

Well done, Henry!
