Dr Jenny Spiga specialises in dosimetry, Monte Carlo simulations, and experimental research supporting innovative radiation therapy techniques that utilise next-generation X-ray sources. Her work focuses on advancing precision and effectiveness in emerging radiotherapy approaches.
Prior to joining us, Jenny was an Assistant Professor at the University of Warwick, UK. She joined Warwick in 2017 as a Daphne Jackson Fellow and later held a couple of STFC Impact Acceleration Accounts (IAA) . She completed her degree in Physics and her PhD at the University of Cagliari, Italy, where she began a long-standing collaboration with the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) in Grenoble, France.
Jenny’s research focuses on Microbeam Radiation Therapy as a novel therapeutic approach to overcome radioresistant tumours.
Her expertise adds an exciting new dimension to the group’s research portfolio, and we look forward to the impact her work will have on advancing radiation therapy and improving patient care.
