NT Live is an opportunity for people to access top-quality London productions in their local area and at a fraction of the cost of West End theatre. NT Live screenings are either recorded live and screened later or broadcast live on the night.
The upcoming productions are as follows:
- Thursday 5 March, 7pm - The Audience
- Thursday 16 April, 7pm - All My Sons
The Audience
‘The Audience’ sees Academy Award winner Helen Mirren step into the role of Queen Elizabeth II during her intimate meetings with the twelve British prime ministers she advised during her 70 years of reign. Through each private audience with the Queen, we see glimpses of the woman behind the crown and the events that shaped Britain’s longest reigning monarch.
Written by Peter Morgan and directed by Stephen Daldry, ‘The Audience’ won Olivier and Tony awards and went on to inspire the hit Netflix series The Crown. This screening was performed and recorded in 2013 live from London’s West End and includes closed captions.
Running time: 149 minutes, including a 15-minute interval. Certificate 12A.
All My Sons
Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad, Malcolm in the Middle) and Marianne Jean-Baptiste (Hard Truths, Secrets & Lies) feature in a modern adaptation of Arthur Miller’s classic play, coming from visionary director Ivo Van Hove. Set in America 1947, the classic suburban family are forced to reckon with the long-buried truths that led them to enjoy their American dream lifestyle.
Filmed live from the West End, Paapa Essiedu (I May Destroy You), Tom Glynn-Carney (House of the Dragon), and Hayley Squires (I, Daniel Blake) also feature in this disturbingly prescient play. This screening includes closed captions.
Running time 165 minutes, including a 15-minute interval. Certificate 15.
