Professor Mahroo Eftekhari is presented with her Fellowship by ASHRAE President Bill McQuade

Loughborough University’s Professor Mahroo Eftekhari has been awarded a prestigious Fellowship by ASHRAE, the international society of heating, refrigerating and air-conditioning professionals.

Her Fellowship was announced at the ASHRAE winter conference, where she was also elected Vice President for the Society.

ASHRAE is dedicated to advancing human well-being through sustainable technology for the built environment. The Society and its members focus on building systems, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, refrigeration and sustainability within the industry.

Fellowship recipients exemplify the best in engineering and technology by continually bringing credit to the profession and the Society.

Mahroo Eftekhari is Professor of Building Services Engineering in the School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering. Her research focuses on the development of building strategies that achieve net zero while maintaining thermal comfort and enhancing occupants’ wellbeing.

Speaking about her Fellowship award she said: “I’m greatly honoured and privileged to be awarded a fellowship at the ASHRAE winter conference in Las Vegas, the highest recognition of excellence. I’m also very humbled to be elected as Vice President, a great opportunity to give back to the industry and shape the future of the global environment.”
