The theme of the event, ‘The World Can’t Wait’, will explore a broad range of contemporary issues through a series of talks delivered by University staff, students, and invited guests. Topics will include identity, inclusion, ageing, sustainability, and narrative design, among others.
The event will begin at 4.30pm, with doors opening at 4pm. In addition to the speaker programme, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in networking activities and enjoy guest performances. Tickets cost £10.

The following individuals will be speaking at the event:
Dr Alexandros Psychogios, Professor of Human Resources Management and Organisational Behaviour at Loughborough Business School
With his wide range of experience participating in various consultancy and research projects, Dr Pyschogios has received awards such as the 2020 Benedictine University Award for Outstanding Research Work on Ethical Issues in Consulting for his research on crisis leadership. His expertise on topics such as brain-adaptive feedback framework gives him great insight into the ways in which we can practice building confidence in soliciting and receiving constructive feedback in our daily lives.
Ayati Rudrabhatla, Loughborough Business School student
Ayati founded Global Market Movers, a podcast and blog that simplifies complex financial and economic topics. Ayati will explore the transformative model of Mendha Lekha and share how their approach to forest banking and collective economics offers valuable lessons for building more just, resilient, and sustainable futures.
Donnacadh O’Briain, Creative Director, Experience Designer and Story Architect
Donnacadh specialises in live theatre, immersive experiences and experiential learning. His wide-ranging career has seen him working on everything from musicals, West End comedies as well as other forms of immersive Location Based Entertainment (LBE). His talk will explore the role of narrative in personal and collective identity formation, drawing on his experience in theatre and experiential learning.
Jola Ajiboye, Loughborough Graphic Design student
Jola will address themes of gender, race, heritage, and identity in perceived hypermasculinity of afro-textured hair as well as dark skin and phenomena such as ‘the UK Black girl aesthetic’ through an Afrocentric and intersectional lens. In her arguments, she rejects narrow views of femininity and embraces oneself beyond flawed societal expectations as a catalyst for cultural change.
Nikki Love, Loughborough Endurance Athlete and Psychology student
Nikki has completed challenges, including 63 marathons in 63 days across the UK and has set the women’s record for running 4,044km across Australia in 76 days at 56 years old. In her talk, she will reflect on her relationship between ageing, physical performance, and psychological resilience, informed by her personal athletic achievements.
Odein Princewill, Loughborough Doctoral Researcher
Odein will speak on her research, which examines identity development and belonging among Black female migrants, incorporating personal experience and academic research. She will reflect on her early experiences of internalised expectations and the struggle for belonging to empower girls like her to embrace their full, authentic self without apology, compromise or fear and remind them that they are enough, just the way they are.
Robert McKinna, Social Entrepreneur and Inclusive Designer
Over the years, Robert has used his lived-in experiences as a testicular cancer survivor with dyspraxia to create a leading inclusive design consultancy that aims to make consumer products more accessible and inclusive for disabled and social minorities within our community. Robert will discuss inclusive design practices and their application in consumer products, healthcare, and technology, informed by his lived experience and professional work.
Zara Lachlan, Cyclist, Rower and Loughborough Physics Graduate
Zara broke the record as the first female and youngest rower to traverse across 3,600 nautical miles, from the shores of Portugal to the South of Rémiré, French Guiana. After being featured on the BBC Breakfast, Inspiring Women Leaders podcast and Her Sport UK, she reflects on her journey, learning how to overcome her own challenges and make strides in her life alongside those around her.
