Loughborough athletes are gearing up to compete at the World Triathlon Championship Finals 2025 in Wollongong, Australia.

A total of 18 competitors from the University will represent their respective nations at one of the biggest events in the triathlon global calendar.

In the Junior Women’s category current students Patience Lamb (Great Britain), Lauren Mitchell (Great Britain), and Liis Kapten (Estonia) will all be vying for podium places. Over in the Junior Men’s side of the draw, there will be more representation for Loughborough with current students Brandon Pye (Great Britain), Alex Dack (Great Britain) and Nicolaos Keramidas (Greece).

The U23 category also has a strong Loughborough presence with current students Ben Cumberland (Great Britain) and Andres Gras (Chile) selected. In the women’s side, Martina McDowell will be looking at the medal spots for Great Britain too.

The Elite Men’s race will see alumni pair Ben Dijkstra and Connor Bentley in action (both Great Britain) with alumna Olivia Mathias competing for GB in the Women’s race.

A whole host of Loughborough-linked para athletes will also be Down Under with alumna Hannah Moore, current student Henry Urand, alumnus Finley Jakes, and training base athletes Dave Ellis and guide Luke Pollard, Oscar Kelly, and Ryan Taylor all confirmed for the Great Britain side.

Nathan Tweedie, Head Coach of Loughborough University’s Development Squad, said: “It’s fantastic to see so many Loughborough athletes selected for the upcoming World Triathlon Championships in Australia.

“The breadth of representation from Juniors and U23s to Paras and Elites, across both British and international athletes really highlights the strength and depth of our programme.

“With many of those selected being current students or alumni from our Development, Performance and Para squads, it’s a great reflection of the pathway we’ve built here and the supportive environment that helps athletes thrive at every stage of their journey.”

All Loughborough’s contingent will be in action between 16 – 19 October 2025.
