Loughborough students bound for Hockey Junior World Cup

Loughborough student Jessica Dyson has been called up by England for the Women’s Junior World Cup.

Loughborough University students will be well represented across both the Men’s and Women’s upcoming Hockey Junior World Cups.

Loughborough's Jerome Goudie will coach England at the Men's Junior World Cup in India.

In the Men’s tournament, held in the Tamil Nadu district, India, four current students have been selected by England; Cole Pidcock, Alex Chihota, Monty Neave, and Tom Speckley. The side will also be coached by Loughborough’s Jerome Goudie.

England have been drawn in Pool E alongside Austria, the Netherlands, and Malaysia.

Francois Vaysse-Baird, another Loughborough student, has been selected by France. His side will take on Australia, Bangladesh, and South Korea in Pool F.  

The Men’s tournament takes place from 28 November – 10 December 2025.

In the Women’s Junior World Cup, held in Santiago, Chile, 10 current Loughborough students have been called up to their respective squads.

Hannah Boss, Jessica Dyson, Liv Breed, Mia Moore, Beth Gardens, Tilly Crampsie, Molly Smith, and Hollie Dring-Richardson have all been selected by England. The side will play China, South Africa, and Austria in Pool D.

Wales Women, who have been drawn in Pool B alongside Zimbabwe, Argentina, and Belgium, have selected current student Amy Cradden in their ranks. Cradden will be joined by teammate Amy Hughes, who currently plays in the University’s hockey performance team.

Over in Pool E, there was also a call-up for current student Mhairi Low with Scotland Women. Low’s team will play matches against Australia, Spain, and Canada.

The tournament takes place between 1 Dec – 13 December 2025.
