The team were awarded the following:
- Winner of Best In-House Digital Design
- Winner of Most Innovative Use of Wide Format
- Highly Commended for Creative Campaign of the Year
In the category ‘Best In-House Design’, the judges were impressed with the docudrama “reel” created for the Aftrak System in Malawi. The judges were impressed by how the approach was employed to deliver a powerful message.
The judges were also impressed by the 2024 SDCA Degree Showcase, which won ‘Most Innovative Use of Wide Format’. The judges enjoyed the efficient and user-friendly route that allowed students to submit their work for large format printing, using variable data into predefined smart canvas templates. The team was commended for overcoming logistical challenges such as temporary storage and transportation at affordable prices. The final result was clear and consistent with attractive graphic outputs across the 200 hanging boards, and 12,000 postcards that further showcased the students’ work.
The team are currently midway through the production of a larger complement of products for the 2025 SDCA Degree Show. This year’s output will be available to see across the school from the start of the Degree Show.
Finally, the team were highly commended ‘Creative Campaign of the Year’ for the Think Human Campaign. The judges enjoyed the innovative and clear approach and use of a strong colour palette to express the message to showcase the research.
