Loughborough student publishes must-read guide to university life

A company set up by Loughborough University PhD student Sophie-Louise Hyde has published its first anthology, entitled You is for University – a collection exploring the A-Z of university life, making it an ideal read for soon to be students and Freshers.

You is for University has been written by students from all over the UK, providing a comprehensive overview of life as a student.

Writer and poet John Osborne – whose work includes critically-acclaimed BBC radio show John Peel's Shed – describes You is for University as a “one-of-a-kind university toolkit” with wide appeal.

Poet Kate Rhodes – whose latest work A Killing of Angels was released earlier this year – said: “You is for University is both a handy guide and heady collection of creative writing. Written by students for students, it has a contemporary edge which is its greatest strength.”

Sophie is thrilled by the success of the collection.

“Bringing You is for University to print has been a challenging but exhilarating experience – one that has taught me many important lessons on how to succeed as a writer and businessperson. It’s given me the confidence to develop the Student Wordsmith further, and I’m hard at work on my first poetry collection.”

Sophie’s company, The Student Wordsmith, is based in The Studio, a dynamic and supportive hub for graduate entrepreneurs, based at Loughborough University.
