Social Venture Models that Work

  • 29 January 2026
  • 1pm-4pm
  • Careers and Enterprise Hub, 14 Market Place, Loughborough, LE11 3EA

Join the Incubator to find out what social venture business models are working and which ones don't quite work anymore.

What is the difference between the social enterprises that are winning awards, the commercial businesses operating in social sectors, and the areas of social delivery that are no longer attracting funding?

The team will be sharing top sector insights, including case studies of successful social venture business models. Each case study will include: what the social venture is selling, who they are selling it to, and who the beneficiaries are.

Attendees will leave with an advanced understanding of what works, who is making the money, and what to do to improve social trading activities.

It is for the full spectrum of social ventures from 'profit and purpose' to 'not for profit'. From a small community organisation or a large business wanting to develop their social impact. This event will be useful for you if you are a community worker, social entrepreneur, entrepreneur, manager or board director. You can also be a student, academic or researcher. By coming together, we can learn from each other, increase collective action, find partners for future projects, and build our network.

Come along to find out more about social ventures and plug into further support.

What you'll gain:

  • Understanding of cost and income pressures on traditional community business models

  • What types of social venture business models are working with case study insights

  • How to duplicate private sector approaches to make money from social sectors

  • How to increase your social sector revenue streams
