Join us in person for this afternoon event on Thursday 12 March from 1pm to 4pm

In this pitch event, people who have taken part in the Social Venture Workshops will pitch their ideas for ventures that have both profit and purpose. They will have five minutes to present three slides. Each presenter/team will get scored for presentation performance, financial viability and social impact. Come along to find out what people have learnt through the Social Venture workshop series.

Who this event is for?

This meet up is for people living and working in Charnwood with an interest in social ventures.

It is for the full spectrum of social ventures from 'profit and purpose' to 'not for profit'. By coming together we can learn from each other, increase collective action, find partners for future projects, and build your network. Or come along to find out more about social ventures and plug into further support.

If you would like to pitch at this event please submit your slide deck to tobias@communityenterpriseengine.co.uk by Friday 27 February 2026.

Each pitch deck will be scored by a panel on three key criteria:

  • Presentation – Includes: Communication style; design; clarity; story telling; entertainment; convincing
  • Social Impact - Includes: Nature of impact, importance of impact; size of impact,
  • Financial Impact – Includes: Financial viability/ will it make money; financial sustainability, will it cover its own costs ongoing

Submit your slide deck by Friday 27 February 2026. Shortlisting will be complete by Friday 6 March to select 6 individuals/teams to present on Thursday 12 March. You will be notified by Friday 6 March if you will be pitching at the event.

The event will be hosted by Tobias Gould from Community Enterprise Engine. A panel of local business people and stakeholders will be selected to hear and score the pitches. The winner of the pitching competition will win £600 seed funding to develop their venture. This prize is sponsored by Chesterton House Financial Planning. More prizes to follow in early 2026.

The Event will be held on the first floor of the Careers and Enterprise Hub. Access is via a staircase, if using the stairs may pose a challenge, please let us know in advance. We will do our best to make suitable arrangements, such as hosting our event on the ground floor, depending on availability.
