Lived experiences of Muslims at Loughborough University: Report Launch

A launch event for the research report 'Lived experiences and improved futures for Muslim students, doctoral researchers and staff at Loughborough University' will be held on Thursday 18 September, 2pm-4pm in the University Chaplaincy. The research project sought to explore how university policies, practices, and services (including facilities) can better meet the needs of Muslim students and staff.

Event programme:

  • 2pm-2.05pm: Welcome by Dr Line Nyhagen (Professor in Sociology)
  • 2.05pm-2.35pm: Presentation of key research findings and recommendations by Rafia Arshad, Ellie Moore (Research Associates and Doctoral Researchers) and Line Nyhagen
  • 2.35pm-3pm: Invited comments on the report by Dr Zain Sardar (Aziz Foundation), Usd. Safra Razeek (Muslim Chaplain, LU), Dr Emily Keightley (Professor and Associate Pro-Vice Chancellor for Vibrant and Inclusive Communities, LU) and Veronica Moore (Executive Director, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, LU).
  • 3pm-3.30pm: Q & A and open discussion
  • 3.30pm-4pm: Mingling and networking with cakes, tea & coffee.

All staff and students are welcome to attend to hear about the findings of our report. A separate event will be held soon at the London campus.
