On Wednesday 4 March February, the IAS will be hosting an IAS Friends and Fellows Coffee Morning, where they will welcome current IAS Residential Fellows Dr Amelia Carr and Professor Yiming Zhang.

Dr Amelia Carr, Deakin University
Dr Amelia Carr is a Senior Lecturer in Applied Sport Science within the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences (SENS) at Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia. Amelia is affiliated with the Centre for Sport Research within the Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition (IPAN). The focus of Amelia’s research is the identification and evaluation of nutritional and training interventions for the purpose of enhancing sport performance, particularly in extreme environments, and for female athletes. Amelia’s current research projects focus on environmental physiology and the implementation of research findings within the Australian high-performance sport system. Amelia completed her PhD in nutritional interventions for high-performance athletes at the Australian Institute of Sport and the University of Western Australia.
Professor Yiming Zhang, Southeast University
Professor Yiming Zhang is a Yong Chair Professor at the School of Civil Engineering, Southeast University. His research lies at the intersection of data science and engineering, with a particular focus on probabilistic machine learning for predictive modelling, analysis, and optimisation; structural health monitoring of civil infrastructure; Bayesian inference for uncertainty quantification; and digital twin-enabled intelligent maintenance.
