13th PRIMaRE Conference 2026

The Partnership for Research in Marine Renewable Energy (PRIMaRE) are pleased to announce the 13th PRIMaRE Conference, June 23rd-24th 2026, hosted by Loughborough University and sponsored by The Crown Estate. The conference will provide a forum for exchanging the latest research, innovation, and developments within the marine renewable energy community.

The 13th PRIMaRE Conference is an in-person two-day conference that will feature oral presentations, poster presentations, keynote speakers from industry and academia, and a panel discussion on “The 2040-2050 energy mix”.

The conference is free to attend, with an optional conference dinner on the Tuesday evening. Details on the conference dinner costs will be made available when registration opens.

Call for Abstracts

The event is open to all and welcomes contributions across a wide range of topics and disciplines, including engineering, environmental sciences, economics, and policy. We are accepting abstracts that fit within the following themes:

1. Tidal/Ocean current energy
2. Wave energy
3. Offshore wind energy
4. Economic, social, and policy aspects of marine renewable energy
5. Environmental aspects of marine renewable energy

The call for abstracts is now open until 30 March 4pm. To submit an abstract, please complete the one-page extended-abstract template and submit it to primare@mailbox.lboro.ac.uk.

Accepted abstracts will be compiled into an openly accessible Booklet of Abstracts, and there will be a competition for best presentations and posters, open to early career researchers (any student or researcher within two years of completion of the PhD).

Key Dates:

• 30 March: Call for abstracts closes
• 10 April: Abstract acceptance notifications & registration opens
• 15 June: Registration closes
• 23-24 June: 13th PRIMaRE Conference
