Loughborough celebrates Black History Month

The University and Loughborough Students’ Union are delighted to host an event programme throughout the month of October to mark Black History Month. The University continues its Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) agenda towards fighting racial inequality through initiatives and collaborative work across our institution.

Events

There will be a variety of events taking place across the month, both online and in-person, to celebrate Black History Month. Find out how you can get involved in discussions, showcases and our parade.

Reading list

Dr Ksenia Chmutina has compiled a reading list sharing fiction and non-fiction reads about Black history. The list covers issues of racism, white privilege, and coloniality; all books are written by Black authors and reflect on Black lived experiences.
