Lisa Brooks-Lewis, Social Impact and Inclusivity Manager

I’m Lisa, the Social Impact and Inclusivity Manager within EDI Services. I work in partnership with a diverse range of colleagues and students across the University to build awareness and motivation to end marginalisation and oppression. This includes creating content for training and online activities, building resources and communications. I look at processes and systems to identify culturally harmful behaviour or practices and seek to enable change. I am also chair of the Harassment and Sexual Violence working group.

I have worked at Loughborough for nearly 10 years, beginning in Student Services. Initially I supported students who had been subjected to harm as Mental Health Support Team Manager and later set up the Duty, Assessment and Inclusion Team, working operationally and strategically. I have a background spanning Youth Justice, improving services for complex and dual diagnosis clients through collaborative working in health and sexual violence services. I am currently studying an MSc in Strategic Leadership with a focus on promoting equity, challenging discrimination, and addressing stigma. These principles are embedded in all my activity to ensure that all community members can thrive within the university.
