Profile

Valerie graduated from Bangor University with an honours degree in Chemistry and Sport Science in 2006. She then went on to complete her MSc in Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology at Bangor University in 2008. In 2014, she completed her PhD examining the affective responses to imaged motor fluency, also at Bangor.

After completing her PhD, Valerie spent time working as a research assistant with Unilever as well as lecturing positions at Bangor University, Waterford Institute of Technology, and Loughborough College, before joining Loughborough University in 2017.

Valerie's main research interest is in the areas of imagery and interactions between perception, action and emotion, especially how motor actions influence emotion.
