During the visit, students heard from academics and student ambassadors about each area of study, Aeronautical, Automotive, Chemical, Materials and Bioengineering.
They were also able to spend time in the teaching facilities, which included the chance to get up close to a plane, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), a Formula 1 car, jet engines and even met our Boston Dynamics mobile robot – Spot. Dr Fiona Hatton, Department of Materials, also led a hands-on laboratory workshop in tensile testing which provided students with practical insights into Materials Science.
Dr Cox, Head of Physics and De Lisle College has expressed his thanks to the team for organising the opportunity and providing their students with an insightful visit.
