Our range of undergraduate courses champion ‘learning through doing’ and aim to cultivate the highest quality graduate designers.
Our School’s unique focus is upon the key design principles of aesthetics, technology, and understanding the user and their environment. Students are inspired to develop a wide range of skills and knowledge via emphasis on creative practical work that is underpinned by the latest theory and cutting-edge research. There are so many great reasons to study a Design course at Loughborough – here are just a few of them…
Our excellent reputation
We are ranked 2nd in the UK for Design and Craft subjects (Guardian University Guide 2020) and among the world Top 25 for Art and Design (QS World Rankings by Subject 2020.)
Integrated employability opportunities
Not only do students benefit from first-class teaching, they are exposed to a huge variety of opportunities to improve their employability via our long-standing industry links. From working on real-life industry project briefs, partaking in renowned competitions, attending guest lectures and completing year-long work placements, it is no surprise that our graduates are so employable. Companies where our students have recently completed placements include Adidas, Bentley, Microsoft, Jaguar Land Rover, Unilever, Mondelez, Priestman Goode and lots more.
The Design Degree Show
Final year students can showcase their work at our widely anticipated annual Degree Show, which attracts employers and designers from across the UK. Some students also have the opportunity to exhibit at New Designers in London – the UK’s most prevalent design exhibition. Both present invaluable opportunities to network with nationwide employers and industry specialists – below are some inspirational examples of previous work.
