The Change Team was set up by Dr Anne Mumford, Director of Change Projects, in September 2013 and has a remit to improve processes at Loughborough University. Members have been appointed or seconded to the team and are assigned to a wide range of projects, which cut across Schools and Professional Services. Projects are prioritised at a monthly Process Change Portfolio Board chaired by the Chief Operating Officer. To suggest a change, please use our online suggestion box.
Dr Anne Mumford
Director of Change Projects
Anne graduated from the Geography Department at the University of Leicester with a B.Sc. (1977) and a Ph.D. (1981). Following this, Anne took up a post in the Computer Centre at Loughborough University. In 1989 Anne commenced a period of working on national projects in the area of computer graphics, visualization and multimedia (as these fields emerged) working firstly with the Research Councils’ central support and the Computer Board and then from 1992 with the Joint Information Systems Committee of the HE Funding Bodies. During this time Anne was also involved in the development of international standards for the computer file formats that today underpin the world-wide-web and transfer of images.
In 1999, Anne became the Director of Media Services at Loughborough University and during her time in this role, chaired the national Standing Conference for Heads of Media Services for 5 years and was project leader for two HEFCE-funded projects on benchmarking of media services and on managing print services.
Alongside her Change Projects role, Anne led the operational aspects of the setting up of the University's new London campus on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park which opened in September 2015. The campus plays a key role in extending Loughborough's high quality education and innovation to a new demographic of postgraduate students and professionals.
Dr Sam Marshall
Change Projects Team Leader (Maternity Leave)
Sam graduated with a BSc in Biochemistry from Sussex University before completing a PhD in Pharmacology at Jesus College, University of Cambridge.
Sam worked as a research scientist in the pharmaceutical industry before she joined Loughborough University in December 2010. She has since worked in the Graduate School, the Research Student Office and the Programme Quality and Teaching Partnerships Team.
Sam has worked on a range of Change Projects, including University Teaching, International Agents, Procurement and Travel. She is also one of the University’s Confide advisors.
Sam’s interests lie in quality assurance and process improvement in higher education.
Change Projects Team Leader
Meg graduated with a BA (Hons) in Information and Publishing Studies with Diploma in Professional Studies (DPS) from Loughborough University and took up a position in the Publicity Department of a London based children’s book publisher. After 3 years, Meg relocated back to Loughborough and subsequently held marketing positions for companies specialising in desktop publishing, design and graphics software, and LPG gas.
In 2008, Meg joined the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences at Loughborough University as a temporary Undergraduate Programmes Administrator and subsequently as Executive Officer for Postgraduate Taught and Research Programmes on a permanent contract.
In 2011, Meg became the Operational Support Officer for the School. In this role, Meg was responsible for internal communications and supporting a range of administrative processes, including module and programme reviews, university teaching and workload.
In 2013 Meg was seconded to the Change Team and joined the team permanently in December 2014.
Admin Support Officer
Sarah joined the University in December 2014 to provide administrative support to the Change Team.
Having previously worked in both the public and private sectors, Sarah brings over 15 years of senior level PA experience.
