Student Enterprise Manager (LEN Team)

Responsibilities

Emma's role is to lead the Loughborough Enterprise Network team, which sits in the Careers Network, to support students and graduates in developing entrepreneurial skills. Through a range of networking events, workshops, courses, competitions, advice sessions and funding, students and graduates are given the tools to develop their ideas and launch their business.

Emma joined Careers Network as Student Enterprise Manager in December 2022. Having spent the previous 8 years at Loughborough Students’ Union as Enterprise and Engagement Manager moving to Student Communities Manager. She graduated with a BA Hons in fashion textiles at Nottingham Trent University going on to design and supply high street chains with womenswear. Before moving to LSU, Emma became Design Director for a start-up company supplying spas globally with textiles and spa wear for therapists. Now as Student Enterprise Manager, she is passionate around supporting students to develop entrepreneurial skills and bring their start-up ideas to life.

 

Gill Clarke Pronouns: She/her BA (Hons) Psychology with Drama and Theatre Studies, PG Diploma in Careers Guidance, BPS Psychometric Testing Level A, ILM Level 5 Coaching and Mentoring, Member of AGCAS.

Careers Development Manager

Responsibilities

Gill’s role is to lead the Careers Development Team to ensure Careers Network provides excellent careers support to students and graduates. This is delivered through tailored information, advice, guidance and coaching, and other events designed to enhance employability and career potential, student progression, career choices and graduate outcomes.

Gill joined Careers Network in 2002 as a qualified careers adviser with experience at three other universities, including administration, information, training and writing. Working as a Careers Consultant at Loughborough, she has worked with most academic schools and led marketing and website development projects.  Trained in coaching, mentoring and management she moved into her current role as Careers Development Manager in May 2021. She is a member of the Careers Network Management Team with an interest in Careers Network services, resources, communications, marketing, and professional development.

Chris Cole Pronouns: He/him

Work and Opportunities Manager

Responsibilities

Chris’ role is to lead the Work & Opportunities Team, which has a focus on work experience and opportunity generation activity designed to positively impact on student experience and graduate outcomes through meaningful work-based learning opportunities, including internships, placements, micro-placements, graduate opportunities and student enterprise. 

Chris Joined Careers Network in 2017, initially supporting The University’s Access & Participation Plan activities.  Since then, he has worked supporting Businesses, Academic Schools and students with undergraduate and postgraduate placements. Chris is also a member of the Careers Network Management Team. After first joining the University in 2013, Chris coordinated the Student Services Information Team, having previously worked in the  Academic Registry and IT at Nottingham Trent University.

Student Success Manager

Responsibilities

Sophie leads the Student Success Team responsible for the design and delivery of several new and interconnected projects under the Student Success Academy, including our Diversity and Inclusion programmes. Together, these initiatives offer a holistic and innovative skills development package designed to help all students to achieve their full potential through lifelong skills. The projects include: Ludus Gold, Ready Set Loughborough, Personal Best+ (including Micro Internships), Academic Success Coaching and our Future Black Talent Programme. 

Sophie joined Careers Network in 2019 as Student Enterprise Adviser following several years of studying (English and Creative Writing) and working (Marketing and Advancement) at Loughborough while running her own creative business. Having worked as a coach for students and graduates wishing to start their own businesses, Sophie is an advocate for the development of entrepreneurial skills and operationally led the Student Enterprise team as part of Loughborough Enterprise Network (LEN) until 2021. As Student Success Manager, Sophie is part of the Management Team and takes an active lead on EDI (including Access and Participation) and Marketing and Communications.

Careers Projects Manager

Responsibilities

Nilesh leads and manages a Projects team to deliver on key strategic projects to ensure excellent careers provision for students and graduates. Key projects include Personal Best (personal development programme), Ready Set Loughborough (pre induction programme for all incoming undergraduate students), the Early Stage Career Development programme (career provision for 1st and 2nd year undergraduate students), graduate outcomes and the careers events programme including the Universities marquee careers fairs.

Nilesh joined Careers Network in 2017 as an experienced Careers Consultant having support clients in higher education and in the professional sector. As a Careers Consultant he has worked with multiple academic schools including the Business School and leading on careers support for international students. Nilesh has held multiple roles at Loughborough University including Careers Consultant Team Leader and Personal Best Manager. With a wealth of knowledge in leading and managing to achieve strategic objectives, he moved into the role of Careers Projects Manager in May 2021 forming part of the Careers Network Management team with a keen interest in Careers Network Services, resources, data analysis and professional development.
