Landlords - advertise with us
Students and their parents will have peace of mind about the standard of rented property being advertised by Loughborough University's own accommodation team. The Student Accommodation Centre co-ordinates and promotes all the accommodation services offered by the University with teams operating for on and off campus accommodation.
All landlords wishing to advertise properties with the Student Accommodation Centre at Loughborough University must be accredited/or working towards accreditation by the East Midlands Landlords Accreditation Scheme (EMLAS) and provide us with their registration number.
This scheme accredits landlords rather than individual properties and is supported by Loughborough University, Charnwood Borough Council and other Local Authorities in the East Midlands region.
The properties of a Landlord accredited under the EMLAS Scheme will meet the minimum standards to provide a safe living environment. The premises will, for example, be in a good state of repair, meet relevant fire regulations, have appropriate gas and electrical safety certificates, and have study bedrooms of a specific standard.
Landlords are required to attend a one day training course covering property management based on the ANUK/IDeA landlord development manual and the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS). In addition, you are required to participate in a minimum of 10 hours continual professional development per year.
The Student Accommodation Centre currently advertises over 200 individual properties plus Private Halls.
The Advertising Service available to landlords includes the following:
- Advertising year from 1st December to 30 November every year
- Full marketing of properties to over 13,000 students
- Advertising on the Studentpad website including up to 6 photographs
- One
or two 
'House' property grading scheme - Advert can link directly to landlords own website
- Ability to download Energy Performance Certificate via advertisement
- Inclusion on Housing List available as handouts to all students at several University locations and at promotional events - intensively promoted for 1st December every year and at the Student Union Housing Bazaar
- Inclusion on lists of available properties displayed in the Student Accommodation Centre
- Studentpad advert renewable every 2 months until property let
- Reminders when Gas and Electrical inspections are due
- Option to purchase up to date Assured Shorthold Tenancy contracts written for student use
