Student Accommodation Centre

Finding the ideal place to live at University can be daunting, but at Loughborough we do all we can to make it easy and enjoyable. The Student Accommodation Centre makes an important contribution to the Loughborough Experience. Our friendly and experienced team are here for you, offering advice and support for all your accommodation needs.

We hope these pages give you the ideal opportunity to find out just what Loughborough University can offer students looking for accommodation. Being in University residences enables you to meet a diverse range of people from different backgrounds and cultures, on a variety of courses, and you can make friends straight away.

Everyone has different requirements and the University is able to offer a wide range of accommodation to suit all tastes, with new rooms and new services being developed. Working in partnership with other housing providers has allowed us to increase our accommodation provision. Also by listening to customer feedback, we are undertaking a continuous upgrade of the facilities in our current accommodation.

Loughborough has 17 halls of residence - 7 catered halls and 6 self-catered halls owned and/or managed by the University imago Services Staff. We also work in partnership with other service providers who manage 4 self catered halls on our behalf.

The Student Accommodation Centre team offer advice on all aspects of renting accommodation on or off campus. We look forward to welcoming you to Loughborough.

The University is affiliated to and compliant with the UUK Code of Practice for the Management of Student Housing. Copies of the Code are available to students upon request or by visiting the UUK website.

We also work in partnership with Unite and Derwent Living, these service providers are affiliated to The Accreditation Network UK (ANUK).

The Student Accommodation Centre is part of imago Services. imago Services is the department within the University that is responsible for allocating and managing your accommodation, including the catering, housekeeping and facilities associated with your Hall of Residence.

What we provide

Catered halls - this means

If you stay in catered accommodation you will take your meals in the dining hall provided for that hall. The meals are provided in a self-service style cafeteria. Menus are designed to meet the needs of our student customers. Hall dining

Our catered halls offer different let lengths & different meal packages. Further information is available as you browse each catered hall.

Self catered halls - this means

Self-catered accommodation offers a degree of freedom, you can choose to cook for yourself or eat out at one of the many venues around campus. Give yourself a break - buy a diners+ card as this saves you from cooking, giving you more time to study and have fun. You will have your own room in a communal flat, sharing a kitchen with up to 8 other students. Further information is available as you browse each self-catered hall.

Additional information

All our rooms have a bed, wardrobe, desk, chair and internet access - some rooms have been upgraded with a 4ft bed where possible.  We have a range of different room types:
