Placement advice for staff
The Careers and Employability Centre works with placement staff, employers and students to ensure that the maximum benefit can be gained by all parties in the placement situation. Careers advisers work closely with placement staff to help to deliver sessions to students preparing to apply for placement and also promote the work experience year to employers.

Placement information for employers
If you as an employer have never considered employing a placement student start by contacting the Careers and Employability Centre. Staff will be able to identify the right departments for you to approach with your placement opportunities.
Some of the benefits you would experience include:
- An opportunity to undertake specific project work which might otherwise not be possible.
- You get the chance to see the student in action for a year before deciding whether or not to offer them employment after graduation.
- Your company can build closer links with the University with a view to developing further projects for example through the Knowledge Transfer Partnership Scheme. For more information see the local KTP website and also the national KTP site.
- You raise your organisation's profile with the University and with its students, making it easier to recruit in the future.
